This course introduces participants to an understanding and analysis of the structure of African economies, the development gap inherent and the role of financial markets in financing development and growth in Africa. The course is structured to cover 3 main pillars; Pillar 1 discusses conceptual issues in finance and the implications for development finance. Pillar 2 focuses on the development dynamics in Africa and the role of finance. Pillar 3 examines the financial market landscape in Africa and innovative financial tools and models and their development impact in Africa. The emphasis is on understanding the structure of Africa's development and the importance of development finance in enhancing economic development and growth in Africa.
