The short course aims to equip higher degree supervisors in economic sciences, social sciences and humanities with knowledge and skills to guide higher degree students through the methodology sections of their studies. The main issues addressed are: (a) To guide students¿ research problems and questions as linked to research paradigms, conceptual frameworks, research approaches and literature; (b) To advise about key terminology in research methodology that are often misunderstood or misinterpreted and might lead to inappropriate methodological choices; (c) To illustrate at least two sample methodological genres from which supervisors can choose; (d) To assist supervisors in guiding research students in structuring and presenting a typical methodology chapter
